I Survived...Book club, 5:30-6:30pm
Do you like historical fiction or reading about the experiences of other kids? Check out the new book club for kids ages 8-12 (or 4-6th grade). Each month we will read one of the “I Survived” books and get together to talk about the book. We will also have a small activity or craft and a snack. For September we are reading I Survived the Great Chicago Fire: 1871. Copies are available at the reference desk.

Geology Rocks! 11-12
Join Pierre Couture, Vice President of the Wisconsin Geological Society(WGS), as he presents The Precambrian Geologic History of Wisconsin & the Lake Superior Region: The Science in the Scenery, the Story of the Stone. Wisconsin’s geologic history is some of the oldest on earth.
We will explore this and relate significant geologic events particular to the area. Samples and photos of unique outcrops will be presented. Members of WGS will be on hand before and after to answer your questions and let you know how you can get involved with WGS and its involvement in helping to provide the UWM Geology Department with scholarships and equipment. No matter what you are interested in, geology plays a role. Join us and find your niche.
Fall is just getting started and there are many more programs to come! Check out these upcoming events. We can't wait to see you in the library!
