What's Happening at the Brown Deer Public Library...

It's not too late to sign up for summer reading!

Go to https://browndeerwi.beanstack.com/reader365, to create your account. All you have to do is log your reading and any programs you attend/participate in throughout the summer to earn raffle tickets for fabulous prizes!

June 7th

Art Cart

It's time for the first art cart of the summer! Stop in the library and pick up an Art Cart bag (while supplies last). Inside will be a variety of art supplies and at least one-two project ideas. Bring the bag home and make something awesome! If you forget to stop in this week we will have another one next week!

Twine Coasters, 11-12pm (adults)

A day on the water brings to mind sailor suits, knotted rope, sun, sand, cool summer breezes… These simple coasters bring at least one or two of those elements to your every day.

Tie-Dye Event, 12:30-1:30pm

Bring your white clothes because it’s time for a tie dye event! You can bring shirts, pants, socks, or even shoes! We will be tie dying them. Careful though! It may get messy.

June 10th

Coloring and Conversation, 10am-12pm

We supply the coloring pages and colored pencils; you bring the conversation. Adults are welcome to pop in and color and converse select Fridays 10AM-12PM in the library’s Adult Program Room, so long as COVID numbers remain low. Use our supplies or bring your own. Come when you can and leave when you must.

Reading Rocks!

As you are enjoying your summer in Brown Deer keep an eye out for our special BDPL Reading Rocks! If you find one please bring it back to the library and we will give you a prize!

Cookbook Club

June's spice is garlic powder and the recipe is Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and Garlic Breadsticks! We will have a potluck on June 20th. Feel free to bring a traditional Italian dish to share or just stop in and sample some delicious food!

What is that? Picture contest - until August 13th

It's back! We've taken some extreme close-up photos of everyday objects and animals--can you figure out what they are? The photos will be on display upstairs in the children's area, and the three people with the most correct will win a prize!

Where's Our Gnome?

He’s back again! Our gnome keeps roaming around! He’s hiding in the library somewhere on the second floor! Every day in a new place! If you find him in the library, bring him to the reference desk for a prize! Be quick! Once he’s found for the day, he won’t start roaming until the following day.

Take a Gnome on Vacation!

Are you going somewhere this summer? Or taking a fun staycation? Take a gnome with you! Pick up your very own gnome at the reference desk, which you can color and decorate. Then take a picture of yourself with your gnome and email it to the library at bdpl.ref@mcfls.org. We’ll display your photo and give you a prize!
