Pokemon Go - until July 9th
Can you believe it – Pokémon Go was released 6 years ago, on July 6th 2016! To celebrate, we have hidden 25 sea Pokémon around the second floor of the library. Catch ‘em all, and you’ll get to collect a Pokémon Grand Master prize bag at the Reference Desk!
July 6th
Mystery Ocean Bingo, 2-3pm
B-I-N-G-O! Are you feeling lucky? Keeping with our summer reading theme, our bingo game boards this year will feature ocean animals! Prizes will be wrapped, so you won’t know what prize you’ll be picking!
July 7th
Movies for Grown-Ups, 2-4pm
Beat the heat and join us for Movies for Grown-Ups! Give us a call to find out this months title.
Family Flicks, 4:30pm
For movie lovers of all ages! The whole family will find something to love at the library's Family Flicks! Give us a call or stop in for more information.
Anime Club, 4:30pm
Come to the library for Anime Club! We will discuss your favorite manga and watch an episode of the anime.
July 8th
Coloring and Conversation, 12pm
We supply the coloring pages and colored pencils; you bring the conversation. Adults are welcome to pop in and color and converse select Fridays between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the library’s Adult Program Room. Use our supplies or bring your own. Come when you can and leave when you must.
Ongoing Programs
Find our gnome!
Our gnome keeps wandering around and we could use your help finding him! If you are going on vacation or having a stay-cation, you can grab your own paper gnome to color and take with you. Snap a photo of you and your gnome and email it to us at bdpl.ref@mcfls.org and we will display your photo and give you a prize!
Reading Rocks
Keep an eye out this summer for decorated rocks with a label that says Brown Deer Public Library. If you return a rock to the library (or re-hide it and take a picture to show us), we will give you a prize! Please be mindful of where you hide the rocks and try to place them on public property only. Some business owners have asked to not participate in this program. Thank you for your consideration!
Attraction Passes
Looking for something to do with the kids? Pick up one of our fabulous attraction passes. We have passes for the zoo, the domes, Schlitz Audubon Center, Discovery World, the Milwaukee Art Museum and Betty Brinn. Passes cannot be put on hold but if you give us a call we will be happy to let you know what is available. Checkout times and benefits vary.
