What is Happening at Brown Deer Library...

"What's going on with the lower level?"

We've been getting this question a lot. The good news is that the carpet is almost fully installed. Once the carpet is fully installed we need to get everything back where it belongs. We appreciate your sticking with us through this process. Everything will be open and back to normal soon!

New Year, New Programs!

Happy New Year! With the new year comes some new and some familiar programs. Keep an eye out for the new How to Craft series for adults, Mighty Programmers for teens and The Curious Bookworm Book Club for K5-2nd grade. For more information about our new programs (and returning favorites), check out our website at https://www.browndeerpubliclibrary.org/. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as well!

January 2

We will be closed on January 2nd. We will reopen with our regular hours on January 3rd.

January 3

Cookbook Club Grab and Go Kits

Like we have been doing, every month we will provide a spice/seasoning and recipe (or two). However, we are going to shake things up a bit: every season or two will focus on a continent or region and the foods that are native to them. Join us as we explore the world through food. This season we head to South America. Kits are available up at the circulation desk. Everything inside is yours to keep. Just return the container within 7 days.

January – Cornstarch – Sequilhos. These soft little melt-in-your-mouth cookies are a Brazilian childhood staple. Plus, if you are gluten intolerant, they have you covered! No flour used.

Art Cart

Every Tuesday, stop in the library and pick up an Art Cart bag (while supplies last). Inside will be a variety of art supplies and at least two project ideas. Bring the bag home and make something awesome!

January 6

Relax and Refresh Kits

Stop in the library on the first Friday of each month to pickup a kit to help you take a break from daily stresses. Kits are intended to be simple, mindful, and include items such as puzzles, coloring sheets, easy crafts, and small treats.

Don't forget to sign up for the Winter Reading challenge!
