Beaded Bracelet Using Paper Beads
Now that we have our beads, we have to design our jewelry. For this endeavor, I have a double-stranded bracelet with long beads bridging the gap between the two strands and short beads traveling the length. See:
Here is how I made it:
Materials:
Paper Beads in two sizes
Clasps
Elastic Cording (other works well, but this works best)
Scissors
Instructions:
Arrange the beads in the pattern you desire. In my case, I alternated one vertical long bead with two horizontal short beads all the way down.
Measure the elastic cording. It should be at least six times your wrist diameter as it will have to pass back and forth through the beads several times.
String on one end of the clasp and bring it to the center.
String the first long bead through both ends of cord, one cord through one end of the bead and out and the other end goes the opposite way through the bead (See diagram above. Both ends of the cord have been color coded for ease of use). Pull tight.
Place one short bead on each cord end.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have a bracelet as long as you want. End the bracelet with a long bead.
Bring the other half of the clasp through both ends of cord like you would a big bead. Hold both ends of cord together and tie in a knot.
Cut off extra cording and enjoy!
